Lead the facility to higher levels of Health, Safety and Environmental issues. Handle regulatory affairs to ensure the health and safety of personnel, and compliance with national, state and local laws.

Responsibilities:

* Participate in plant leadership team driving accountability for plant safety initiatives and performance reporting to the plant manager. Work in concert with corporate HSSE professionals.
* Cultivate a culture focused on continuous improvement in safety performance and personal accountability for safety.
* Formulate, write, and implement environmental, safety, health, and regulatory compliance programs and audit processes & procedures.
* Meet and consult with local, state, and federal authorities on regulatory matters to ensure facility operates in compliance with air, water, and hazardous waste permits.
* Instruct personnel regarding local, state, and federal regulations governing environmental, safety, and regulatory issues.
* Ensure safety, environmental ®ulatory training. Develop training programs using outside training as necessary. Select sources for training aids and materials.
* Oversee new employee safety orientations and conduct educational safety programs as required.
* Develop and control annual budget for area and effectively allocate funds and manpower.



Qualifications:

* BS degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or related science
* MS degree preferred
* At least 10 years relevant work experience in HSSE roles
* 10+ years' experience in an industrial place or chemical industry environment
* Certified Safety Professional preferred
* Proven leadership with working groups to accomplish team goals
* Require innovation and creativity abilities
* Excellent communication skills both written and oral, and interpersonal skills required.
