Job Summary

This individual will be a part of a team who will design power distribution systems, voice/data, generators, UPS, fire alarm, roadway and interior lighting design.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist in preparing construction documents consisting of drawings and specifications of electrical systems.

* Design power distribution systems for commercial and industrial facilities (up to 480V/4000A series typically).
* Design critical power systems (UPS/DC/Generator), innovative lighting & controls, telecommunications systems, fire alarm systems, lighting protection & ground systems, and motor control systems.
* Performing engineering feasibility studies, and NEC, NFPA and other related code research.
* Performing all electrical calculations studies, etc.
* Manage owns time across all projects to meet deadlines.

* Define design requirements based on the statement of work as directed be Lead Electrical Engineer
* Perform site surveys to verify existing conditions and requirements.
* Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering task.
* Coordinate with architects, clients and other design team members to develop construction documents.
* Provide opinions of cost for projects when part of scope.
* Develop technical specifications for inclusion project manual.
* Perform detailed calculations consisting of but not limited to: Service size calculation, voltage drop calculations where applicable, available fault calculations and arc flash calculations.
* Perform point by point calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
* Knowledge of building codes and NEC and the ability to apply code criteria to design.
* During construction administration phase

* Respond to RFIs
* Prepare ASIs and PRs
* Evaluate change orders
* Review shop drawings
* Perform punchlist
* All task as directed by Lead Engineer

Job Qualifications

* Minimum Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering from accredited engineering program.
* PE and/or ability to obtain PE.
* At least 1 year of experience


* Knowledge of electrical engineering, design engineering, software and computer-aided design
* Experience in AutoCAD and Revit design software
* Knowledge with SKM design software
* Knowledge with visual lighting design software
* Strong communication skills (timely verbal and written succinct communication with internal and external project team)
* Time management
* Critical thinking
* Problem solving
