Electrical System Development Engineer

Develop and coordinate systems design for electronics, controls and mechatronics for Tractors in a Mobile Equipment Division. Responsibilities:

* Create and develop electrical systems
* Develop vehicle topology, communication protocols and architecture for networked components
* Ensure completion of engineering activities to meet goals
* Drive a competitive edge over industry competitors by inviting and encouraging design concepts, inventions that have not yet even been thought of
* Contribute to profitability and product quality

* Frequently collaborate with management and related teams
* Nurture and maintain solid relationships with suppliers



Primary Responsibilities

* Thoroughly understand, develop, update and maintain vehicle requirements to be implemented in the controls and electrical network architecture.
* You will have a leg up if you come from a background in agriculture, mining, construction (or similar) equipment
* Develop Network Databases for CAN, LIN and Ethernet
* Develop vehicle network topologies by implementing company solutions standards
* Simultaneously know vehicle architecture while planning innovative upgrades
* Analyze both modeled and implemented vehicle networks for common network design problems - i.E., loading, latency, fault tolerance, quality of service
* Lead design reviews, DFMEA's and develop and manage validations plans
* Frequently update manager
* Some Travel is required (read opportunity)- both domestic and international only once a year

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or computer engineering
* Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical, controls and mechatronics design
*? Licensed PE or ability to obtain in near future
* Good knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems related to mobile equipment
* Theoretical and applied knowledge of scrum development methodologies
* Strong skills in ECAD system and good skills in 3D MCAD systems, CATIA V5 experience preferred
* Strong understanding of assembly processes and good understanding of manufacturing processes
* Working knowledge of six sigma principles
